EOMAP erhält Innovationspreis Bayern 2022
EOMAP is awarded the Bavarian Innovation Prize 2022
Die Jury des Innovationspreis Bayern war von SDB-Online – der neuen Web-App für satelliten-gestützte Bathymetrie – überzeugt. Die Web-App aus Bayern vereinfacht die Vermessung von Flachwassergebieten weltweit und kann so zu deren nachhaltiger Nutzung beitragen. Dafür erhält EOMAP den Preis in der Kategorie “Unternehmen bis 50 Beschäftigte”.
The Jury was impressed by SDB-Online – the new Web-App for Satellite-Derived Bathymetry (SDB). The online solution “Made in Germany” allows rapid and easy mapping of shallow waters worldwide and can thus contribute to their sustainable management. For this, EOMAP has received the Innovation Award in the category “Company up to 50 employees”.
Seit 2022 bietet EOMAP einen Online-Service, der einfach, rasch und umweltschonend Informationen über küstennahe Wassertiefen liefert. Die Web-App „SDB-Online“ beruht auf „Satellite-Derived-Bathymetry“ (SDB), einer Methode, die multispektrale Satellitendaten auswertet. Das Unternehmen deckt damit den Bedarf vieler Nutzer im Bereich Küstenschutz und -management sowie Seegrundvermessung. SDB-Online hilft zum Beispiel dabei, Tsunamiwellen zu modellieren, Offshore-Kabel sicher anzulanden oder die Küstenmorphologie und deren Dynamik zu verstehen. SDB-Online wurde im Rahmen des EU-Forschungsprojekts S4*) entwickelt. Für die WebApp erhielt erhielt EOMAP als Ausgründung des Deutschen Zentrums für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR) am 21. November 2022 den Innovationspreis Bayern.
In 2022, EOMAP has launched an Online-Service, that offers simple, rapid and non-intrusive access to bathymetry and seafloor data of coastal waters. The new Web-App “SDB-Online” roots in „Satellite-Derived-Bathymetry“ (SDB), a method harvesting multispectral satellite data. The company herewith addresses the need of stakeholders in the field of coastal protection and management as well as seafloor mapping. SDB-Online can for example be used for modelling tsunami waves, safely land offshore cables or have a better understanding of coastal morphologies and dynamics. SDB-Online has been developed within the EU Horizon 2020 project “4S”*). On 21st November, 2022, EOMAP has received the Innovation Prize of the Bavarian State Ministry of Economics for this game changer in surveying shallow waters.
