About us

Despite our diverse cultural and professional backgrounds, we are united by a collective passion for Earth Observation. We strive to translate complex data into meaningful insights and real-world solutions. Learn more about our mission, team and job opportunities.

Mission possible

Who are we?

A multi-disciplinary team, passionate about Earth Observation technology and ecosystems

Our team of 50 includes geographers, software engineers, physicists, geo-ecologists, creatives and business developers. With origins in 10+ countries, we cultivate an open-minded and collaborative working style.

Since early 2025, we’re part of Fugro.

Our mission

Empowering partners worldwide to better understand and manage aquatic environments

For us, sustainably managing ecosystems is both an environmental imperative and a strategic economic asset. We strive to bridge the gap between space-based research and business solutions.

What we do

We turn satellite data into actionable decision-support: data services, software and apps

An ever increasing fleet of satellites is providing terrabytes of “big data” on our planet. We make this data accessible by turning it into user-oriented solutions for key markets.

History of EOMAP

What drives us?

Creating Value for our Customers

Solution Providers

Apart from hydrospatial data, our team is also passionate about customer and market needs. Knowing that our clients need easily accessible, reliable data and cost-efficient processes, this is exactly what we design our products and software services for.

We are known to go the extra mile: Customer satisfaction surveys show a range of +80% values.

Your success is ours, and word of mouth is our favourite business developer.

Best-in-class technology

At the core of EOMAP technology are physics-based algorithms we have developed since the 1990s. Our fully automated systems derive reliable quantitative information about aquatic environments from satellite data.

Basically, we follow the light’s path through water and back to the sensor.

In spite of scientific acknowledgement of this fully physics-based technology, we follow systematic quality control routines to account for any uncertainties arising from environmental factors in satellite data.

The result is a unique service offer: a comprehensive range of sensor-independent, automated and harmonised algorithms and software processors.

Team Players

Fair play and team spirit are part of our DNA. In R&I projects, for example, we partner with stakeholders from renowned research institutes, leading businesses, NGOs and even competitors. Their expertise is a great add-on to our Earth Observation knowledge and helps us think outside the box.

Through this collaboration-oriented mindset, our partners and clients have succeeded in hundreds of projects in oceans, lakes and rivers across the globe.

Nature Lovers

Mangroves in Madagascar, the Great Barrier Reef, the Alps or the Canadian Arctic coast… – our work leads us to many beautiful places in the world. The natural beauty of these areas amazes and motivates us. Moreover, it reminds us of their vulnerability and our responsibility to manage them sustainably.

Last, but not least, the natural surroundings of Castle Seefeld are inspiring nature, too: A clear lake, a forest, and an old oak alley leading to the 500-year-old castle walls.

Pixel nerds

Accurate, reliable data are the basis of our work, and our fully physics-based technology has been found prime by remote sensing experts. Nevertheless, we still follow systematic quality control routines to account for any uncertainties arising from environmental factors in satellite data.

We enjoy getting to the bottom of things, finding the best data source for each purpose and constantly striving for optimal solutions – with our clients’ success in mind.

Our Management

Our team is striving to bridge the gap between Earth Observation science and business needs. Talk to us and challenge our solution-driven instinct.

Why join EOMAP

Satellite technology is a highly dynamic field, and so is environmental science. Work in data science or software development, and join international teams at the forefront of Research & Innovation!

Climate change is challenging us, and so is biodiversity loss. The best way to cope with these challenges is taking action. Leveraging Earth Observation to support fact-based decision making is our approach. We find this is much better than complaining or falling in grief.

Be part of our solutions!

At EOMAP, failure is nothing to be afraid of. Instead, we cherish people who take the initiative, feel accountable, and decide to their best knowledge and belief.

Our management trusts in the capabilities of each team member and enjoys to see you spread your wings and …fly.

We know that money is not everything. But it is an important acknowledgement of your capabilities and engagement.

Thus, you can expect an attractive remuneration level and benefits, such as job bicycle, wellpass, shopping card or other social benefits.

Some call us “family”. In fact, team spirit is something we value a lot. Just like a good sense of humour. You will have to get used to plenty of memes on Teams and make sure you bring a cake on your birthday!

In addition, Castle Seefeld offers high-class meeting rooms, plus a “Biergarten” and a park in front of the office door. The lake is within 10 minutes walking distance. Some have their bathing suits in an office drawer, others commute by bike and can count on 2 showers and room for their bikes at the entrance.

For the key markets we serve, you can crosslink research and technical innovation with business needs.

At EOMAP, we are both research and solution driven. This helps us keep pace with space-based technologies, but at the same time keep our feet on the ground.

If you like being active, here we go: Monday night is boulder night. Every six weeks, we go and have fun playing beach volleyball or soccer. Once the colleagues from Berlin or overseas come over, we say “cheers” at the beer garden.

Thanks to a couple of passionate musicians among us, some colleagues join for a heavy metal concert, while some go to the opera together.
